Trailer: ‘The Girl in the Spider’s Web’
Synopsis: Lisbeth Salander, the cult figure and title character of the acclaimed ‘Millennium’ book series created by Stieg Larsson, will return to the screen in ‘The Girl in the Spider’s Web’, a first-time adaptation of the recent global bestseller. Golden Globe winner Claire Foy, the star of ‘The Crown’ and recent Steve Soderberg’s ‘Unsane’, will play the outcast vigilante defender under the direction of Fede Alvarez, the director of 2016’s breakout thriller ‘Don’t Breathe’; the screenplay adaptation is by Steven Knight and Fede Alvarez & Jay Basu.
Karl Stig-Erland “Stieg” Larsson, author of the ‘Millenium’ bestseller, did not live to any screen adaptations of his books. He died in 2004 in the age of 50.
Lisbeth Salander character was earlier impersonated by Noomi Rapace in “The Girl Who Played with Fire” in 2009
and Rooney Mara, alongside with Daniel Craig, in “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” in 2011.
Columbia Pictures/MGM will open “The Girl in the Spider’s Web” in theaters on November 9.
