Trailer: Steve McQueen’s ‘Widows’

Steve McQueen is a British writer/director that has released only three films so far, however, each one of his work becomes either iconic, or collects multiple awards. These were ‘Hunger’, ‘Shame’ and ’12 Years a Slave’ – latter received Oscar for best picture.

His forth film sets anticipation with a trailer that introduces a brilliant female cast with Viola Davis, Michelle Rodriguez, Elizabeth Debicki and Cynthia Erivo in the lead roles. Their supporting male cast is no less impressive: Colin Farrell, Daniel Kaluuya, Garret Dillahunt, Carrie Coon, Jacki Weaver, Jon Bernthal, Robert Duvall and Liam Neeson.

Penned by McQueen and /Gone Girl’ screenwriter Gillian Flynn, “Widows” is the story of four women with nothing in common except a debt left behind by their dead husbands’ criminal activities. No time to grieve – they have to finish the heist their men failed to accomplish.
