The 9th European-Vietnamese Documentary Film Festival
EMMANUEL LABRANDE (Director of Institut Francais de Hanoi – L’Espace and President of EUNIC-VIETNAM):
“For the second year in a row, it is my honor and pleasure, as president of EUNIC-Vietnam, to welcome you back to the 9th edition of the European-Vietnamese Documentary Film Festival.
This year, along with Vietnam, 11 countries collaborate altogether to present their films, their culture and their point of view in this Festival: Austria, Wallonia-Brussels (Belgium), France, Denmark, Germany, Israel, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Czech Republic and United Kingdom.
From the 8th to the 17th of June 2018, the festival will be held simultaneously in Hanoi at the Vietnam National Documentary Film Studio and in Ho Chi Minh City at Hoa Sen University. During this period, you will enjoy every evening a different film from a different country preceded by a Vietnamese one.
Audiences have the opportunity to understand the countries, people, cultures of many countries through documentary films, a type of cinema reflecting the reality of life. This festival brings together documentary films with special themes, such as music, heritage, design … Many directors will attend the event and exchanges their experiences with the audience. Some films have won high prizes at international film festivals. We are confident that the 9th European-Vietnamese Documentary Film Festival will be a great success and bring exciting moments to the audience.”
