The sequel to the hit Marvel movie is released on May 18 and stars Ryan Reynolds in the titular role, alongside Zazie Beetz, Josh Brolin, T.J. Miller, and more.
The official soundtrack has had to be marked as containing explicit content due to five tracks – ‘Holy Shit Balls’, ‘You Can’t Stop This Mother Fucker’, ‘Make The Whole World Our Bitch’, ‘Pity Dick’, and ‘Courage Mother Fucker’.
The score was composed by Tyler Bates, who has worked on scores for Guardians Of The Galaxy, Dawn Of The Dead, and 300, amongst others. Speaking to Billboard, he called the warning sticker a “badge of honour”. He added that he tries to make moments that “everyone involved, most importantly the director, feels involved in and that becomes part of the memories of their lives and careers.”
The score for Deadpool 2 is out now via Sony Classical. The official soundtrack for the movie, meanwhile, features tracks from the likes of Celine Dion, Cher, Diplo, and Skrillex.
Meanwhile, an extended version of Deadpool 2 could be on the way after Leitch said he hoped some of his favourite deleted scenes could find their way into a longer cut. “Yeah, there’s a lot of material in dramatic scenes and in comedic scenes that you might want to cut, or you might want back in the movie,” he told Digital Spy.
“But I think, then, the movie starts to speak to you, and you’re like, ‘OK, this joke is really funny, but I don’t want to subvert this emotional moment.’ Or: ‘This emotional moment is great, but we get the point, and the audience can make the leap, and they really want to just get to a joke.’
