HANDS-ON DIRECTOR’S CRAFT
Director’s Craft hands-on course introduces students to the craft of filmmaking. The topics cover storyboarding, composition, camera movement, film continuity, editing, pacing, rhythm and many more.
HANDS-ON SOUND RECORDING & DESIGN
This is a comprehensive hands-on class that teaches the process of sound and voice recording, as well as creating final mix. Behind theory and, technical information, it provides hands-on demonstration and practice with various recording devices.
This hands-on course is designed to help students develop their skills of film screenwriting, being instructed in story structures, characters creation, texts and subtexts, stories refinement and writing styles.
In this course, students will undergo an intensive training on usage of HD digital motion picture cameras and their accessories. Through hands-on workshops and film tests, they would also learn fundamental lighting skills and techniques.
HANDS-ON PRODUCTION WORKSHOP
The Production Workshop is designed to demystify the craft of filmmaking. It is a hands-on class where students exercise in stage & shoot. The idea is to help identify the objectives of the scene given and thus use tools and techniques to bring the story to life. Mise-en-scène and continuity rules are also defined and practiced during the exercises.
In this particular hands-on class the students will learn to trim raw footage and edit the selected frames into a smooth continuous story. The software used for editing is Adobe Premiere.
HANDS-ON BUDGETING & SCHEDULING
Such hands-on workshop will give a fundamental understanding of how to orchestrate the production process and all teams & individuals involved. Students will be taught how to breakdown the production process in stages, consider all expenses to keep the budget within planned, build feasible timelines to avoid negative surprises, and, of course, how to manage people and talents in the project.
While every student in a Hands-on Filmmaking Workshop writes and directs his or her own films, it is important that students realize and respect that filmmaking is a collaborative effort, and understanding of challenges and importance of each team member, so as empathy, is crucial for success of a project.
